04.09.2014 – 11.09.2014 | Nairobi, Kenya | Kenyatta University Conference Centre
The HORTINLEA Capacity Building Office is pleased to welcome you to the inaugural HORTINLEA Summer School. The objective of the Capacity Building Office is to promote sustainable capacity building in research using a two-pronged approach. The first objective is to enable young researchers to strategically pursue a career in research and development cooperation through mentoring by experienced researchers, participation in summer schools and targeted skills acquisition so as to improve their innovative and analytical capacities. The second objective is to develop knowledge-sharing networks and research-community linkages which will build up an infrastructure for effective research cooperation which addresses the strategic needs of developing countries. These objectives will be monitored and evaluated through an envisaged quality assurance process. The Summer School thus forms a core activity in pursuit of our objectives. We are thus happy to finally be approaching the Summer School and we hope that you will have an informative, intellectually-stimulating and pleasant experience.
